Many battle daily with the feeling of loneliness and isolation. Sharing a meal is central to a family, but for some of our elderly that is no longer possible. Our program is funded by Monmouth County grants, USDA reimbursement, and donations from meal program participants and generous donors. The program is available for those over age 60 and a limited number of disabled persons under the age of 60. We also offer a limited weekend and holiday meal program for homebound seniors who have no one else to care for them. The meals are nutritionally balanced, planned by a on-staff registered dietitian. Our program provides a noonday meal for approximately 3,500 senior citizens annually a total of 350,000 meals per year.
